CAGWAIT – Tourism industry in the Philippines is dead serious in promoting spots specially those just newly discovered to generate additional revenue. Surigao del Sur in Mindanao is listed to have more tourist destinations that people will love to visit.

To mention among of those tourist spots were Tinuy-an Falls in Bislig, Enchanted River in Hinatuan, Lanuza surfing, and ofcourse Cagwait beach facing the lovely horizon of Pacific Ocean.

Decades ago since this beach was discovered, beach goers continue to experience how beautifully this beach was naturally created. The C-shaped cove beach will likely match the first letter of C-agwait. Until now, Cagwait beach not just simply a beach but it looks even better. A festival has been created named “Kaliguan Festival” which celebrated annually every 24th of June to honor the day of the feast of St. John the Baptist.

Just recently, Cagwait hosted many provincial and district activities like Sports Fest, Press Conferences, and Private School activities. In these hosting, Cagwait became the activity hub of some groups and institutions from some neighbouring districts and provinces. This will somehow create good impact to its economy specially for those in Small-Medium-Enterprise sector.

While Cagwait progress is ready to take off, the municipal officials are optimistic that thru the support and cooperation of Cagwaitnon people, one that could help boost economic and generate livelihood is TOURISM industry.
